Cacao Love
For those of you that know me I am a big advocate for Cacao. This beautiful gentle plant medicine helps us to open our hearts and learn to come from a place of love, compassion and gratitude.
I have been working with Mama Cacao for 3 years. I have found her to be a beautiful supporter for journaling, journeying, during menstruation, connecting with others, an alternative to alcohol and caffeinated tea, she has taught me to become even more in Agni with mother earth. I have found she has the ability to hold me gently but give me the push I need. Since sharing in sacred space I have found her to be a profound tool in helping others to connect to themselves and others.
What is Ceremonial Cacao?
Cacao grows in many countries around the world. The Cacao that is currently work with is Criollo from the Ashaninka Tribe in Peru that live in the rainforest. The Cacao grows on small farms and each Cacao tree is blessed and prayed over during its growing and harvesting period. The Ashaninka believe all plants are sacred and live their lives in harmony and balance with nature. The Cacao is grown organically and has minimal processing to ensure the highest nutrient density and least damage to Mother Earth.
It is important when connecting with the spirit of Cacao to honour and give gratitude to the Cacao trees and the people that have tended and processed the cacao.
It is crucial when purchasing Cacao to buy from reputable organisations that offer fair pay, ensure no slave labour, ensure sustainability and ethical practices.
How does it affect you?
You have most likely been eating chocolate all your life and enjoying the sensation of eating it. Cacao is similar in that it will make you feel good, but on a whole other level as there is no dairy and sugar involved. Pure Ceremonial Cacao has many health and wellbeing benefits such as it is a relaxant and energising at the same time. She is the ultimate heart opener as she will deeply and profoundly connect you to your heart, this pure place of love, gratitude and joy. For me it feels like a flower in my heart is blossoming open, I gain clarity and connection.

What is a Cacao Ceremony?
Cacao has been revered in Mayan culture for 1000's of years and used in many ceremonial practices as well as bringing tribes and communities together. Cacao Ceremonies are becoming more common in Western World as Mama Cacao comes out of the rainforest to help us find balance and harmony in the world. I believe she has always been there but we not been conscious. I believe that the tidal shift recently as the world has descended into chaos is to support our rebirth and transformation. To remind us that we must work together in harmony, we must protect Mother Earth, we must help to raise the vibration and bring peace and sustainability into our consciousness over money, greed and power.
The circles I hold space for are to bring people together to share, to connect, reflect and meditate. We will often have singing, journeying, drumming and movement. Cacao is for everyone, my daughter of 8 will often share and intention set with me. I strongly believe that Cacao needs to be honoured and respected as a plant medicine. Chocolate has become a commodity like tea and coffee but when we truly connect in and listen to Mamma Cacao she can change your life.
